Our Introduction to Mindfulness workshop is a 1 ¼ hour session on how mindfulness-based approaches can help with managing issues we all face such as stress, anxiety, low mood and chronic health conditions.
This workshop involves an introduction on what we mean by mindfulness, followed by being led through some mindfulness meditation practices. You don't need to have any prior knowledge or experience of mindfulness to attend or benefit from the session.
The guided meditation practices will involve some breathing meditation practice, and exploring the experience of eating a small piece of fruit or chocolate – so please have something ready! Each of the practices will last around 10-15 minutes. We will also explore the mindfulness-based approach to working with difficulties, including giving you some information on the nine week mindfulness-based course we offer at TALKWORKS and details of how to sign up. You will come away from the session with a digital resource pack with suggested reading, videos, and websites to explore more about mindfulness.
Book onto a mindfulness workshop
This Mindfulness workshop is currently being held online using Microsoft Teams, and you are invited to attend with both video and microphone enabled. This is optional and there is no pressure to do so, but will allow for joining in with some light discussions about the meditation practice. This session can be accessed using a laptop, computer or smart phone and you'll need a quiet place to join from. The day before joining the workshop, you will be asked to complete the standard set of questions that we will share with you.
