When you meet someone new, it’s common to be asked “what do you do for work?” Our job, what we ‘do’, can be a key part of how we view ourselves and can easily impact how we feel too. It’s no wonder that being in work, or out of work, can be a significant source of stress. This may result in us feeling low, anxious or worried, and lead to us looking for support around this, to help us to manage these difficulties. By accessing employment support, through a service like TALKWORKS, we can learn coping strategies to improve our emotional wellbeing and happiness.

How are you feeling?
You may be experiencing work-related stress by having too much on your plate, or you might be putting pressure on yourself to progress in the role that you are currently in. Alternatively, you may be off sick, or out of work and struggling to find any kind of job at all.
This could lead you to be:-
- Stressed
- Anxious
- Low and fed up
- Struggling to sleep
- Worrying more than usual
It can be difficult to know where to turn when you feel like this. You might relate to some of the following:-
- I’ve been off sick for ages
- I’m feeling really burnt out right now
- I wish I could get a job but I can’t seem to get past the interview
- I think they’re going to get rid of me
- I just don’t think my employer understands why I find certain tasks really tricky
How we can help
