TALKWORKS staff and volunteers attend local summer events

Posted by Admin on 22 July, 2024

Our TALKWORKS staff and volunteers have been out and about, attending a variety of events and shows across Devon. We had a busy few days at the Devon County Show back in May, where we spoke to lots of different people about our NHS Talking Therapies service, and the mental health support we can offer to adults across Devon.

We joined NHS colleagues and other local services in flying the flag for diversity at Exeter Pride, Exmouth Pride and Exeter Respect festival. These events were a fantastic opportunity to speak to members of LGBTQIA+ communities about our evidence-based talking therapy options, including cognitive behavioural therapy and counselling for depression.

Our South & West team also attended Torbay Armed Forces Day where they talked to veterans and family and friends of serving military personnel about the help that’s available through TALKWORKS for people who are struggling with sleep difficulties or feeling low, worried, anxious or stressed.

If you are heading to the Mid Devon Show on Saturday 27 July, keep an eye out for our TALKWORKS team members who will be available all day to answer any questions you might have about our service and the treatment that we offer. We’ll then be rounding off our summer of events at the Teignmouth Pride Street Market on Saturday 14 September where we’ll be joining local services and businesses across Devon in celebrating equality for all.
