Access support from TALKWORKS
Self-referRead Alex’s story to find out more about how accessing employment support alongside therapy at TALKWORKS can help you to find, stay in or get back to work:
“I was referred to TALKWORKS via my GP as I was struggling with menopause and how it had impacted my work. I had to leave my place of work after a difficult time and I was struggling to come to terms with what had happened. I was extremely sad and overwhelmed with what was happening in my life and didn't know if it was due to the menopause or work related stress or both.
“After working with my therapist, Nell, it became apparent that I also needed to have employment support from TALKWORKS. After nearly two decades working in the same organisation I felt lost. I needed guidance on CV's, job applications and websites that may help me get back into work. Being referred to the employment support, was so beneficial. It was great speak to Sue, my employment advisor, about my work related worries. It was so helpful to have someone who understood and who supported me through the weekly and then fortnightly meetings. These meetings helped me focus and kept me on track. We even met up at a careers fair, and it was so great to have someone there with me.
“Whist working with Nell and Sue, I started making progress with my thoughts. I realised they had moved from being very negative about my life and future plans, to building my confidence and starting to feel like my old self again.
“The help that TALKWORKS gave me was truly amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who is struggling, especially at work.”
